What is permanent makeup?

Permanent make up is considered a cosmetic tattoo that resembles make up such as eyeliner and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face, lips and eyelids. The procedure is performed with sterile cosmetic pigments and it placed into the dermal layer of the skin. The procedure is performed with a sterile single use needle.
 


What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup procedure that creates hair like strokes for the brow that typically last 1-2 years.


Is it painful?

This will vary according to each individuals pain threshold. We use high quality anesthetics that are specifically designed for permanent makeup are used to help with any discomfort. Most people report a scratching sensation for the eyebrow procedure and a tickling sensation for the eyeliner procedures. The lip procedures are a bit more sensitive, but not too uncomfortable.


How long do the results last?

Procedures such as eyeliner, lips and powder brow are considered permanent but client results will vary due to the fact that we have no control over how our bodies heal. Permanent makeup lasts a long time, but it will slowly fade over time. To keep it looking fresh you should have a touchup done every couple years.

Microblading generally lasts 1-2 years. Hair color, skin type, lifestyle and aftercare will also effect the longevity of the procedure.


What will my permanent makeup look like after the procedure?


All procedures will appear darker for the first 3-10 days. For eyeliner and lip procedures there will be slight swelling the day of the procedure. It is a good idea to limit social events such as weddings, graduations or other important events during the healing process. Your permanent makeup will begin to look more natural after 2 weeks.


Can I drive home after my procedure?

You will be able to drive after your procedure. If you are doing the eyeliner procedure, it is a good idea to have someone "on call" or with you incase of eye sensitivity. It is also a good idea to bring sunglasses to your appointment to help with any light sensitivity.

-Chlorine pools/Jacuzzis for 2 weeks

-Profuse sweating/Exercising for 7-10 days
-Heavy cleaning such as basement or garage cleaning where there are a lot airborne debris.



What is the recovery time?

There is no downtime with any permanent makeup procedure. It is ideal to not have any plans the day of the procedure in case of swelling and redness. 



What is the perfecting session?

This is extremely important to make sure that you receive the desired results from your procedure. We use this session to add final details or touchups that are needed. This session is included in the procedure price as long as you come in within 6-8 weeks of your initial procedure.



Am I able to have a procedure done if i am pregnant or nursing?

No, you must wait until you are no longer pregnant or nursing to have any of the permanent makeup procedures done.


What kinds of health and safety precautions do you take for the procedures?

We are a licensed tattoo studio that is regularly inspected by the health department. All needles and tools are sterilized using a steam autoclave. We are also a 100% disposable studio, which means that we do not reuse anything on another client. 


Is it safe?

All of our pigments are cosmetic grade, meaning they are sterilized for cosmetic use. The ingredients have been approved by the FDA for cosmetic use. In addition our tools are single use and discarded after procedure. 


Is tipping customary?

Tipping is customary, but entirely at your discretion. This is very similar to your hairdresser, massage therapist.
